Remove the Username and Picture from Windows XP Start Menu

If you don't like that your username and picture are displayed in Start menu, then dont worry, there is a solution to disable that. Just follow the steps in this tutorial.

1. Start Windows Explorer and go to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures.
(The option Show hidden Files from Tools/Folder Options must be checked)

2. In that folder, rename the picture which corresponds to your user account.
For example, if your username is Cristian, rename Cristian.bmp to old_Cristian.bmp.

3. Rename the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\Default Pictures

to something else. For example:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\No_Default Pictures

4. Go to Start -> Run.


5. Type regedit and press Enter.


6. Navigate to this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft\ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer and set NoUserNameInStartMenu value data to 1.

If you don't have this dword make it by right clicking on the key and select New.


7. After you Restart your computer you see that your username and picture are gone from your Start menu.

Macbook Air Hacked in Under 2 Minutes

One of the things that Apple has always prided itself over and promoted in no uncertain terms, has been the so-called 'robust security' offered by its OSX operating system. However this supposition of Apple's took a huge beating on Thursday when a team of researchers from Independent Security Evaluators (ISE) managed to hack a MacBook Air in just two minutes using a previously unknown security vulnerability in Apple’s own safari browser.

The people who did the 'hack' were ISE security researchers - Charlie Miller, Jake Honoroff, and Mark Daniel – who were participating in the "PWN to OWN" competition at the CanSecWest security conference, in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In this competition there were 3 laptops, with different OS’s offered for being hacked into. These included an Apple Macbook Air running OS X 10.5.2, a Sony Vaio VGN-TZ37CN running Ubuntu 7.10 and a Fujitsu U810 running Vista Ultimate SP1. Anyone who could successfully hack or exploit these machines would win a $10,000 price from famous security company Tipping Point.

Color Desktop Printer by Lexmark

Lexmark's color desktop printer, the Z1320, is now available in India. This compact inkjet printer is mainly intended for home use.
The printer offers print resolutions of upto 1200 x 1200 pixels (Black) and 4800 x 1200 pixels (color). It promises print speeds of up to 22ppm Black and 16ppm color. The printer comes with an optional six-color printing feature, and claims to be capable of creating color photos and professional-quality text and graphics, as well as borderless prints up to 5-inches x 7-inches. It can print on transparencies, envelopes, and photo paper. The Z1320 comes with high-yield Black and color cartridge, and has an option for additional higher capacity ink cartridge as well, which offers users best cost-per-page among printers of its class, says the company.
The printer's package includes "Lexmark Software Suite" which includes the "Lexmark Imaging Studio" software to edit images. Through this, users can crop, rotate, and resize photos, manage colors on the photo, and enable red eye reduction as well.
Supporting Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, XP Professional x64, and Apple Mac operating systems, Lexmark Z1320 promises a duty cycle of 3000 pages per month, and comes with a one-year limited exchange warranty.
