Aerosmith to featre in GUITAR HERO next....!!!

In a move that marks a change in direction for their billion-dollar franchise, Activision has launched "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith", the latest iteration of their popular 'Guitar Hero' series.
"Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" focuses on a single band, Steven Tyler's Aerosmith, the same band that belted out hits like Jaime's Gotta Gun, Sweet Emotion, and Dream On.
The new game is slated to hit the stands this Summer. It will feature nearly 30 Aerosmith songs plus others from acts that have opened for the band.
Kai Huang, head (RedOctane Unit) of Activision, which guides development of the franchise, said the idea was to cover the 30-plus years of Aerosmith, right from high school days to rock superstardom.
Meanwhile, since its launch in late 2005, the 'Guitar Hero' franchise has seen the rise of games that feature dozens of artists across multiple music genres, including classic rock, grunge, metal, punk, and so on.
With the spotlight now trained on a single band, "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" marks a pleasant diversion for the hitherto roadmap of the franchise. Not to mention a treat for countless fans of Aerosmith. Huang described it as "a completely new way to interact with the music and with Aerosmith".
Meanwhile, the goss (gossip) is that this is Activision's way of countering rival music game, "Rock Band" from MTV and Electronic Arts (EA). Incidentally, "Rock Band", whose popularity has been soaring lately, includes drums, a microphone, and a guitar; and offers new songs for download onto gaming consoles every week.
Like other 'Guitar Hero' games, in "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" too, players must hit the colored buttons on the guitar-shaped controller in time for the songs to play properly to earn points along the way.A bundle with the game and the controller costs between $80 and $100, while the stand-alone game costs $40 to $60.
As for Aerosmith, they recognize the game as a new distribution platform for their music. And to give a sense of the real, the game tries capturing the on-stage in-concert moves of energetic frontman, Steven Tyler, and lead guitarist, Joe Perry.
